Chapter 10

1.  Draw a picture of what you think the city through the secret door looks like (draw on the back of an old can or bottle label for extra credit).
2. What happened to Lina’s grandmother in this chapter? What does it tell you about the medical services in Ember?

Chapter 11

1. What does Lizzie have in her “bulging bundle?”
2. What would you do if you were Lina, take the special gifts for not telling, or tell? Why?

Chapter 12

1. Who does Doon find on the other side of the secret door? Why is this so terrible?
2. What do Doon & Lina do after they know what is behind the door? Would you do the same?

Chapter 13

1. Take one line from the instructions (#1-4) and try to decipher the instructions as best you can.

Chapter 14

1. Make a list of five everyday items that Doon & Lina would probably not understand. Write a set of instructions for how to use one of the items on your list.

Chapter 15

1. Make a "wanted" poster for Doon or Lina. Give a description of each character, what they did wrong and the reward amount.

Chapter 16
